Anxiety & OCD Treatment

When anxiety starts determining what you can do, where you can go, or how you live, it may be time for more support.

Anxiety can affect far more than how someone feels. Persistent worry, panic, intrusive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, and avoidance can gradually restrict a person’s life.

At Reclaim, we provide structured treatment for individuals whose anxiety or obsessive-compulsive symptoms have become difficult to manage.

Anxiety Can Take Many Forms

Anxiety may involve:

  • Persistent worry
  • Panic attacks
  • Social anxiety
  • Fear and avoidance
  • Physical tension
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Irritability
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Constant anticipation that something will go wrong
  • Avoiding situations that trigger anxiety

Over time, avoidance can make the world feel smaller.

Understanding OCD

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder can involve unwanted, intrusive thoughts, images, or urges that cause significant distress.

Compulsions are repetitive behaviors or mental rituals that a person feels driven to perform, often in an attempt to reduce anxiety or prevent something feared from happening.

OCD is not simply being particular, organized, or perfectionistic. For many people, obsessive-compulsive symptoms can consume substantial time and interfere with relationships, work, school, and daily life.

When Anxiety Begins Running Your Life

You may find yourself avoiding:

  • Social situations
  • Work or school
  • Driving
  • Leaving home
  • Certain people or places
  • Activities you once enjoyed
  • Situations involving uncertainty
  • Dating and romantic relationships
  • Sex and Intimacy

Treatment can help you understand these patterns and develop more effective ways of responding to anxiety and distress.

When Weekly Therapy Isn’t Enough

If anxiety or OCD symptoms have become too disruptive for weekly therapy alone, IOP or PHP may provide the additional structure and support needed.

Anxiety can affect people at different stages of life, and while it is a something that everyone experiences, sometimes it can be so pervasive that we cannot live life as we used to. At Reclaim, we work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety related conditions such as OCD, panic attacks, hypochondria (Illness Anxiety Disorder), and more.
